I added music to my blog!!! :) All the songs listed are by the blue grass country band, Nickel Creek. Some of you might have heard of them, they had a couple chart toppers back in the day and they were at the top of my list when Scuba and I first started dating. A lot of their music reminds me of that first year we dated, I listened to them constantly! They bring back many good memories for me.
I'm not sure what made me think of them today but I was looking through their songs and I noticed that they have a song titled, "Sweet Afton!" How perfect is that!! I have to admit though, it's not my favorite song. The song is actually an old poem written by Robert Burns. Afton is a River and the poem uses words like "thy" and "ye." It would be so much cooler if Afton was a person but the song does have a great melody so I added it just for fun.
I know what your thinking.....so Rach likes country music. Yes, I do. I also like many other types of music. My goal for my play list is to post the music that I like that you probably won't here on the radio every day. Anyway, enjoy!!

**Oh, the last song is Nickel Creek's version of a famous Brittney Spears song....it's kinda cool.

Afton is officially 8 months old which is around the time that most babies start showing an interest in crawling and some even are already crawling. So far Afton has not had any interest what-so-ever in crawling. We will set her up on her hands and knee's and immediately she falls flat on her tummy. Yesterday however when Scuba picked her up from daycare her sitter told him that when she put Afton on her knee's she actually stayed there!! She even tried crawling but fell flat on her face :( There is a boy 2 weeks older than Afton that is crawling and everyday when I drop off Afton I tell her to watch Cole and take notes.

It's only a matter of time :)

Scratching my head

One of the University's I work with has a course that requires the text, "Fiske Guide to Getting Into the Right College" by Fiske. The text provides information on each step of the college admissions process, including selecting a college, writing application essays, handling college interviews, and financial aid.

Is this odd to anyone else?? :)

Albuquerque Trip

Afton and I went to Albuquerque, New Mexico this past weekend to visit my extended family. I don't have all the pictures yet from our trip but when I do I will post them. In the mean time I wanted to share one of my favorite pics from the weekend.


I just love how Afton is resting on my cousin Timmy, too cute. Oh and I promised my uncle I would post our group pic.....aren't we a fun looking bunch :)

Sleep Walking

This is a pretty cool video. I'm not sure about the song being that I watched the video at work where my computer does not have speakers but I just think the video alone is very creative and must have taken a LONG time to complete.

It's Etsy Time.

Have I mentioned my love for Etsy? I need a million dollars so I can buy more stuff. There are some REALLY crafty and creative people out there and today I purchased a Valentines gift for Afton from one of those crafty Etsy people.


Well, I realize that it doesn't take much to create a tag blanket but it was a bargain and I love the heart fabric (hence the Valentines gift).
If you have ever seen Afton study the tags on her stuffed animals you know that she will LOVE this! I can't wait to give it to her :)
